STORY OF SYDNEY ALEXIS AUTHOR

Sydney grew up on the original World of Warcraft, The Legend of Zelda games, Merlin the TV series, among others, and a number of fantasy books on her shelf which sparked her affinity for the genre. Her writing began with stories about magical horses, grew into fanfiction for The Legend of Zelda, and finally landed in its own original space with The Daughter of Dawn and The Perfect Distraction, a teen romance written as a study. With a love of absolutely all storytelling, Alexis finds lessons in writing in all its forms, citing anime as having the biggest influence on her emotional scenes and fight choreography..

Alexis is the co-founder of an online community for aspiring and published authors entitled The Writer Community. The community has a growing presence on Instagram with daily prompts, inspiration, and discussion boards for writers; provides weekly blog posts from members of the community and founders on all things writing; weekly podcast interviews and roundtable craft discussions; a monthly book club that rotates through both traditional and independently published works; frequent live talks on the craft of writing; weekly live writing sprints; and an assortment of other online resources at their website.
